New Playground

We sent this thank you note to the parent volunteers who helped put our playground equipment together...the kids are loving it!

Let the drum roll begin....

Looks like it's going to be a good year.  Kiddos tomorrow :)  -- until 1:10.

This year will see my school involved in
1.  new teacher & principal evaluation which is adapted from Marzano
2.  new reading series...Reading Street 2013 common core...even though my state, Nebraska, is not a cc state
3.  less para help due to insurance concerns and budget cuts
4.  teaching in a new building ALL year long--big shout-out--YEA!

More OWL stuff

Found these glass magnets at Stuck Together Magnets .  I tried attaching magnets to laminated numbers...but the back was too slick for craft glue...AND all I had to do was order these.

August 12 is the starting date for teachers in my district...where did the summer go?

School Shopping

It seems like when I'm not looking for anything in particular...there it is.  My 'finds' yesterday at Target are--metal turquoise basket, file envelopes ( for me to organize and store my vocabulary words, amazing words...see below... and pictures of the books we're reading), owl stickers which I attached magnets, a magnetic eraser, and dry erase markers which are magnetic.  In an earlier post I mentioned that our new marker boards are magnetic.  Love, Love, Love them...
