Resolution #1 for school year...

I hereby resolve to not let my recreational reading come to a halt during school.  I plan to post this sign so my students can see I'm a reader also.

Focus Wall...Amazing Words

 I have been busy making AMAZING WORD cards for my focus wall this fall.  At least with powerpoint it doesn't take too much time getting ten done.  --just wait until I start printing**--then I'll see if I have enough ink!!

Since I am changing my 'theme' to owls, I guess I'll change the look of my focus wall to coordinate.  KPM doodles has been my choice for clip art--colorful and whimsical.

Reading Street 2013 CCS

It's official...our new reading series is here.  Are there any other 4th grade teachers out there using the 2013 CCS version?

I'd love to share ideas, resources, and just a chance to bounce about concerns .

First question---what are the amazing words and how are you integrating them?

Birthday Bird

Theme for this fall...owls- Look WHOO'S in Fourth

Therefore I've made the following (using ppt) to have for birthdays. I will run them off on cardstock,  cutout,  and then attach to???  Here's the problem-what to attach?  Last year I attached laffy taffy rope to a birthday flower, but it doesn't stay firm.  Like most flowers it wilted! Guess I have awhile to decide. 

Keep them Reading

Here is a letter that I'll send the end of next week to remind my students to keep reading...Students start school on Aug. 14th, so that's just 2 months away.

New Web Site for Class

Fabulous Fourth  
will be the new home web page for the 2013-2014 school year.  I've always had a site where I've used space from the educational unit that provides services for schools in Nebraska.  I've had a site so long that when I first started I was typing the code...

I've had a chance to review what I've had on my old site and to see if I really need it.  I like the new downsizing I've accomplished.  Revamping will probably happen until school starts.  I love the picture with my new site, but it's not school appropriate, unless you're vacationing with me!  I guess I'm on the lookout for a better picture.  Any suggestions...school building, classroom ( that's stripped to the bare...), maybe I'll wait until I take pictures this fall.
