I know exactly what you mean! I started the 40 book challenge with my students 2 years ago. Last year, I told my class I would participate too but only count the children's books I read. BIG mistake! I read tons of other things but couldn't put stickers on the chart because of the deal I made (I didn't feel I could share some of the romance stories I read as no brainers LOL) My students loved giving my a hard time, especially as they hit 40 books! I love the poster! I bought a decorative easel to prop the book I am reading/just finished with to display in my classroom library. I think I'll have to add a sign to go with it. Thanks for sharing! ♬Kay On the Trail of Learning
I used the sign last year! It has been hard for me to keep my book up to date at times, and then at other times, the same book stays on display for a long time...you know how it goes.
I agree that it is important for the kids to know that we are readers, too!
