I've made composition notebooks into various topic...Fun in the Rain...Summer Fun...Best Day Ever...My Family. (Thank you blogger friends for this idea)
In order to keep my 4th graders on task there is a checklist on the inside to help make this a pleasant experience for them and me.
Not only is there the checklist...there is also the rules for Work with Writing from The Daily Five.
Pat,
ReplyDeleteOur school got us each a set of the 7 habits posters:) I think you should be able to get them on the website.

I would love more information on where this idea came from? It sounds fantastic! So, students choose which composition notebook to write in and then free write? I love the thought of at the end of the year you will have a compilation of all students writing. I have two classes of 4th and think I may have them all collaborate in one set of notebooks.
ReplyDeleteI can't seem to find the blog where I borrowed the idea. I decided that composition notebooks would hold up better than a spiral notebook. I'll take a picture at school tomorrow of the notebooks.
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to try this project. It will be interesting to look back at the writings when school is near an end.
Mrs. Shepherd,
ReplyDeleteTara...first comment has the first blog posting on these shared notebooks.

She's using notebooks. I made my labels using printshop and the postcard choice.
